How do you write something into the registry?

Can anybody tell me how to use a batch file to write something into the
registry? The item is already there with a name of "(default)". I want to
change its value.

Open a command prompt, type: reg /? hit Enter.

Type into Start | Run...

hh ntcmds.chm::/reg.htm
