How Do You Use Spyware Blaster?

I've just installed spyware blaster and am a little confused on how to use it. I've figured out that its a blocking program and not something you scan with ( ) but i dont understand how it blocks spyware. Is just having it installed doing it? Or should it be in my taskbar near me clock and volume adjustment? (which i would of thought would be right)

Once it's set up and updated, just enable it for all and leave it alone. It will work quietly in the background.

Only time I open that program is to update it.

I only have it on my daughter's machine, none of my own.
