How do you use outlook in more than one place?

I want to view my work email at home but have it stay on the server so I can
read it at work. When I erase mail (and delete and remove entirely from the
deleted folder) I don't want it to show at work-only the items I did not
erase.

Work would override home a download the mail from the server and not show up
at my home again. I am trying the settings I can find but I am still having
problems.

What versions of Outlook and what types of accounts?

OK.

With POP accounts, there is no way to do exactly what you want. While you
can configure each Outlook to leave messages on the server so that each can
download them, once a message has been downloaded, there's no way you can
affect it from another PC.

You can have the home PC leave messages on the server but have the work PC
remove them from the server. Then the home PC won't see messages you've
downloaded at work, but your will will see messages you've downloaded at
home.

Brian,
I appreciate your assistance but I was able to delete email at home and not
have it show up at work on my old pc. Now, a new pc and a new isp- I can't?

With POP accounts, if you leave copies on the server in both places and have
the "remove from server when deleted from Delete Items" option enabled, if
you delete it from one PC BEFORE the other PC can download it, then it won't
be there for the second machine to download and, hence, you won't see it on
the second machine. However, that's not what you appear to have said. I
implied from this
I want to view my work email at home but have it stay on the server

that you had already downloaded the item both at work and at home and that
you wanted it to be deleted from the work PC if you delete it at home.
That's simply impossible to do, but perhaps I did not take your meaning
correctly.
