Clueless in Seattle

I would like to be able to enjoy listening to music on my computer.

But Windows 2000 makes all kinds of beeps and other annoying sound
effects when I click on things or when I get email.

How can I turn off all these annoying sound effects?

And, how about that Muzak like chord that Win2K plays every time it
boots up. Can that be disabled too?

Hard to believe but it's in;

Control Panel|Sounds|Sounds

Thanks for pointing out the obvious to me ;-)

That did the trick. What an improvement! Now my computer is a well
behaved little beast that only speaks when spoken to.
