When you are using a table in access in one field you type 1 then hit enter
to go to the next field and automatically a 2 appears. HOW DO YOU STOP THAT?
It is so frustrating

There is no option to turn that off. The only workaround I'm aware of, is
to set a default value for the field (which may not be desireable).

You shouldn't be entering data directly into tables anyway. You should
create a form for data entry, where you have much more control.

It is. It's a STUPID feature for a database and should never have been
included; and it should have been removed (as several MVP's requested
two versions ago). There's not even an off switch for it!

I'd suggest using a continuous Form for data entry, rather than a
table or query datasheet. Forms do not suffer this peculiar "over
helpfulness".
