How do you specify that an appointment did or did not occur

Is there any way to specific that an appointment/meeting did or did
occur?
We are migrating from ACT! which had this feature.

No, there's not a similar way as "clearing" it in ACT!. At the moment you
create it, it's already in History which is why you'd clear it in ACT!.

When you create an appointment/meeting record in Outlook on your calendar
make sure that it is also linked to a Business Contact or Account record so
that it will then show up in your BCM Communication History. (Even if it
remains out in the future yet to occur). When the future arrives, the
meeting occurs, and you want to keep a record that this occurred, you can
either just leave the appointment record in place on your Outlook calendar so
it remains as history in both Outlook and BCM OR, you can delete it from the
Outlook pst calendar folder and BCM will still hold a linked record of this
occurance within an automatically re-written "Business Activity" record in
the SQL db. If the meeting cancels or reschedules, just either delete the
appointment record or forward it on your calendar into the future as
necessary.

Shouldn't I be creating the appointments and meetings within BCM (as
opposed to Outlook?

In regards to appointment and meetings that *did not* occur I was
hoping to find a 'one click' solution that allowed me to archive it.
In other words, to not have to delete the appointment and then create
a note that the meeting was cancelled.

BCM is contained as an add-in to Outlook. You can create an appointment in
Outlook without it having any linked relationship to a BCM record. However,
if you want to automatically have it be archived with a 'zero click' soluton
make sure the appointment is linked to a BCM record. You can do this 2 ways:
Create the appointment first and then manually link it to a BCM record or,
initiate creation of the appointment from within an open Business Contact
record by clicking on New History and selecting Appointment from the drop
down which will automatically link the appointment and also establish it as
part of your communication history within the BCM db all at the same time.
