I have read the Tab Cycle information in the Access help index, but don't
know either the formula or where to write it? Can you direct me more
clearly. Still learning! Thanks

When you use a form it is normal to go from one field to another in a set
order - [cbo1stname], [cbosurname],[cboaddress], etc. The tab order is the
order in which you move from one field to another.

To set the tab order on a form

Open the form in design view and right click on the field you want to be 1st
in the "move-around-the-form" order - the field the will have the focus when
you enter the form.

Select the Other column on the properties box.

Go down to the "Tab Stop" and set the number (note that it starts from 0).
Go to each field and set the number then save the form.

If you don't want a field to ever have the focus (an autonumber field for
example) set the "Tab Stop" to No.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your help thus far. I have managed all of what you say.

What remains is to ensure that the Tabbing does not take me to the next
record. I want it to continue to 'Cycle' within the current record after the
last tabbed text box has been reached. The Microsoft help index says
something about this but I can't work out how to put it into practice.

If you go into design view of your form, right-click on the form and in
your pop-up menu, there is an option called Tab-order. click on that
and you should be able to easily set whatever tab-order you jolly well
like :-)

Hope that helps,
Chris
