How do you save(copy) to CD?

I cannot save a file, text file (Adobe Acrobat format), to my D (CD) drive.
I get an error message "drive not accessible". Yes I have a CD read write on
my computer. Can someone give me step by step instructions? I have done it
before but seem to have forgotten how. I have XP home.

In order to use your cd-rw drive like a big floppy drive, you need to
have third-party packet-writing software installed. Examples are InCD
from Nero and DirectCD from Roxio.

Also, some programs will not save directly to cd even if you have
packet-writing software installed. Save the file to your hard drive (My
Documents is a good location for most people) and from there burn it to
cd. How you do the burning depends on whether you have third-party
burning software installed or you are using XP's built-in burning
capabilities.
