You noise may be from the hard drive or it could be (most
likely) is from the CPU fan.

| It's not that it doesn't have this function, it's that it
has a
| different name in Windows XP from that used in Windows 9x.
It's
| called CHKDSK, as it's called in all previous versions of
Windows
