I'm running Outlook 2002 that was part of an Office XP
package on a Win 98 SE operating system. I was trying to
find a way to easily insert "å" into emails, and tried to
use autocorrect to always replace "a @" with "å". This
didn't work because autocorrect will not replace
characters in the middle of a word-- only at the
beginning.
Then I noticed that "ä" could be inserted in Outlook
emails by using the shorcut keys listed in Word's
character map: Press "Ctrl" and ":", then press "a". The
hotkeys worked for all the other characters so listed in
Word's character map, but unfortunately the shortcut keys
for "å" no longer worked, even after I had removed my
entry in the autocorrect table.
It seems that my tinkering erased some sort of default
macro that was installed with Outlook, and I would like to
get it back, but without losing all the other
modifications collected in my outlook.pst file. I have
already tried Detect and Repair without any success. Does
anyone know how this feature works and have suggestions?
