Hi,

My hard drive died on me so I had to install a new one.

The new drive is showing up as F though and C is showing up as removeable
disk (I think this is the card reader on my printer).

Does anyone know how to reassign the drive names to the more convention C
for hard drive?

Thanks in advance,

Xp allows you to redesignate drives from the resource manager if I
remember correctly.

But not for the boot drive that XP resides on.

Try the Neanderthal method. Remove the power cable from all the drives
except the one with the OS on it & power up. The system should pick that up
as "C", power down & add the next one. (if you have more than one hard
drive). Then add the CD drive so it'll show up last.

Good suggestion, however I don't think it will work with XP. I would be
interested to know the result if the OP tries it.
