How do you move an outlook folder elsewhere w/o losing the info

Using Microsoft outlook 2003, I've created several folders in outlook that
are eating up my mailbox space how do I move them out of outlook elsewhere
without losing the contents?

Are you on Exchange Server, or is your email POP?
