I have uploaded links to some original songs on my web page and I would like
to make them read only so they cannot be downloaded. Is there a way to do
that?

Thanks!

They *have* to be downloaded so a user can listen to them. To be displayed
a web page is loaded in to the browsers cache - the temp internet files on
your hard disk. If you know where to look you can retrieve those files. If
you don't want them to be downloaded why on earth put them on a web site?

Even with streaming media, people with media players with recording
capabilities can probably save the streamed file.

So my answer is like that of similar questions many others asking how to
prevent people taking HTML code or images and so on - there is no sure way
to prevent it - if you don't want it taken, don't put it on the web.

I suggest you make low quality wav/mono versions or 30 second clips of the
songs only, and make the high quality verisons available some other way.
