How do you include new contacts in outlook address list

We recently added a network to our office and Outlook 2003. Previously when
a contact name was added in the address book it would automatically appear in
the "select names list". Now no corrections, deletions or additions show up.

How many folders are in your folder list (Ctrl+6). What folder is set as
default delivery location and is that one set as an address book?

If you have Contacts in the Contacts folder but they are not accessible when
you click on the To button, check these settings:

Make sure the Contact folder is enabled as an email address book. Right
click the Contacts folder, choose Properties then Outlook Address Book. Is
the box to enable as email address book is checked?

Hi Diane,

I am having the same issue with a new user setup using Outlook 2000. I
created a user account in AD with the same settings as another user. They
are using POP3 mail to retrieve mail but the GAL is on the Exchange Server
(2K) which he cannot view. Also, there is no drop down list when you click
on the address book. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Larry

if they are using pop they can only access the GAL as an LDAP address book -
to access it as a GAL, they need to use an exchange account.
