If you have confidential contact information (such as your bank), in Palm Top
you could 'hide' such info and assign password to it. Can you do this in
Microsoft Outlook's contact segment?

No, outlook doesn't support passwording individual items. This app:
http://www.wiredbox.net/outlock.aspx does messages, not contacts.

A second option, while not any more secure, does protect items from prying
eyes - move them to the Outlook today folder and they are hidden from others
unless Outlook today is disabled or they use advanced find on the entire
mailbox.

In my opinion, this is a weakness in Outlook that has prevented me, and I
think many others, from switching from a Palm-based PIM to Outlook. For such
a sophisticated program as Outlook to not have a simple function, that allows
users to mark contacts as "private" and hide them, is puzzling.
