On my other machines XP automatticlly displays a dialog box when I put a disc
in the CD-ROM drive that asks me what app I want to use.

On this new Dell, It's not enabled and I can't fingure out how to enable it.

I don't even know what to call that feature, so I can't look it up in
Windows Help.

1. Open XP's "Help and Support Center".
2. In the Search box type: AUTOPLAY , and hit enter.
3. Click on: "Change how your computer handles multimedia content".

Thanks,

Actually, someone at work told me this. Came home for lunch to check it
out and the Properties box for my CD-ROM drive/Autoplay tab shows that
Autoplay is enabled.

But nothing happens when I put in commericial Audio CD, a data disc CD-R,
or an application install disc with an Autorun.ini file.

In each case I have to open Windows Explorer and right click on the drive
icon and choose Open, and then deal with the files on the disc.

What did Dell do to dis-able Autoplay, I'm wondering/

Any suggestions on how to trouble-shoot Autoplay when it is supposed to work
and it doesn't?
