How do you get Microsoft to update their definition files?

I have the same request to Allow, Block etc coming up regularly. It relates
to DDMI2.sys which is from Dell Support and is vital to allow.

I'm fairly new to using Defender and I don't know if Microsoft picks up on
what is being allowed automatically?

Can anyone advise?

If you join spynet at an advanced level, your decisions to allow will be
communicated to microsoft--tools, microsoft spynet. Note that this is
impossible to do during the install dialogs--the only choices presented are
basic or none.

I am an advanced member so hopefully Microsoft will get around to updating
their definitions sometime soon! I suppose they have a lot to get through.
 
I really don't have a picture of how this works--my impression is that some
unattainable number of responses might be needed--so I hope that isn't
really true!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't really know how it works!

I guess only time will tell.
