How do you embed a large mp3 file in powerpoint

I want to put a 3 meg mp3 file in my powerpoint and email it to someone and have it play.

There is no way to embed a MP3 file. The only sound file format that can be
embedded in the PPT file is a wav file, all others (including MP3 's) are
linked, no exceptions.

A 3 meg .MP3 will be considerably larger in wav format, probably larger than
most mail servers will allow. Why not use a relative link within a folder
and create a self extracting zip of the folder that runs the PowerPoint
file? Have the recipient click on the zip file to save the folder to the
hard drive and then open the PPT file.

Another option would be to down-sample the MP3 to a wav. This would produce
a lower quality sound, but may be able to keep the wav file under 10 megs.

How about sending the ppt/pps file along with the mp3 file by e-mail and
have the receiving party save them in the same directory? Would it work?

That should work. WinZip would be useful for this as well, as you could
specify the directory to unzip to.
