I realize that the question sounds laughably simple...I assure you I
know how to download. But I can't find a way to do it on Microsoft's
pages. It tells me that it's an integral part of Service Pack 2 and
that I already have SP2 on my computer. I'm totally confused. Thanks.

The following info might offer some ideas:
What can I do if I upgrade to Windows
XP SP2 and Windows Movie Maker 2.1
is not installed successfully?

There is no download for Movie Maker 2.1.
The only way to reinstall Movie Maker 2.1
is to download and reinstall WinXP SP2:
Download Windows XP SP2

Generally, users install from the net but this
site allows you to download the complete
file to your hard drive before installing.
It's good for a network administrator because
you can burn it on a CD and install it on as
many computers as you need to.
And it's good for a single machine because
if you ever need to install it again...you'll have
it available without waiting for a download.
