How do you delete the searched sites?

You know when you search something on the internet? then,
say, you want to delete it... you try deleting the
cookies, the temporary internet files, and nothing works,
when you go to the site, and you press down in the blank,
a list of all the sites you have ever searched is in the
box... I just want to know how to delete them... they're
stored in my computer, that's all I know... they're
hidden, so you can't see them with Windows Explorer... so
you'd have to get in through DOS mode... but how? and has
the method been tested? either that, or the IP address
thing... but that'd mean there's a cookie that keeps the
info on all the sites...

What version of Windows?

You can highlight any individual item in the drop down box and press the
Delete key.

I had the same problem. This information is stored on an
index.dat file.Even though you delete all histories, the
information remains on that file. I am using a program
called Track Eraser Pro, which writes the index file back
to zeros. All past histories are removed.Go to their
website and download a trial version and give it a
try.http://www.acesoft.net/download.htm. Hope this helps
you.
