There are some Windows updates that did not install properly. How do
you remove entries in the Windows update?

What if I do a restore back to the checkpoint before the updates were
performed? Would the rollback make the update list back to what it was
before the updates were performed?

Personally I doubt it, but I have never tried.

If you install the Update successfully it will then get rid of that failed install
in the History and overwrite it as Successful

I picked to install the same updates again, then reboot. Now the new
entries are listed as successfully installed, but the old entries were
still there listed as didn't install.

That is the way mine has always been, also. As to whether System Restore
will erase them, I still doubt it, but it might. Worth a try as you can
reverse it if it doesn't work, and is worth it to you.

What files will be changed when you do a system restore? Will all the
previous system files and user files be restored? If so, then what
will happen to the new user files that was created?

System and certain user files. System restore creates a new restore point
before doing the restore so you can return to the current state. User
documents are not affected.
