I'm trying to figure out how to create a Windows Media Player 8 compatible file. Upgrading the player on the playback machine is not an option, but I've looked over the docs and I don't see how I can specify the codec when saving a WMV file from Movie Maker.
Thanks for any help!

Save the file as a dv-avi, giving best quality and take it in to windows
encoder 9, (free from M/S) where you have a mulitude of choice, one of which
is backwards compatibilty.

Thanks Graham! I had hoped there was a way to do it directly from MovieMaker, but this seems like a reasonable work-around

When you have got to grips with encoder you'll love it!!!!!!
If you have any trouble there is
microsoft.public.windowsmedia.encoder
to go to as well :)
