version of Outlook? You complete tasks, not appointments.

you don't really. If it is past it is "complete".
You could assign a category and call it "completed" if you like.

Outlook is not a CRM Customer Relationship Management system so they aren't
"completed" as that terminology stems from the world of CRM software.
