How Do You Clear . . . .

Hello All:

No, my question is not as easy as clearing the history of websites visited -
that is very easy to do.

What I am looking to do is clear the history of "terms" used when inputting
online forms and "searches" used on search engines - Unfortunately, there is
a lot of personal information that is saved somewhere (the cache?) but I do
not know how to clear it -

For instance: when I start inputting an online order form - a box will
often appear when I start typing and I will be given a choice of using some
information which I have used in the past - including important, personal!
information. Also, when I go to a search engine (and it happens on all of
them), and I input a new serach term, a box will appear with many old search
terms I have used of which I will be given the option of choosing. This list
has several hundreds of topics. How do you clear this cache?

This is particularly important to me as I am donating my computer to a
school and do not want people knowing my SSN number which is stored
somewhere.

Thank you.

If you are giving the computer away then you MUST wipe the hard drive with a
tool like gnu wipe, and reinstall from your Windows CD. If you don't have
time, then just wipe, and let the recipient format and reinstall.

Otherwise you are just asking for trouble - especially if you're giving it
to a school.
