How do you change the default calendar folder?

I've been using a .PST to track my calendar and would like to move back to
using the Exchange calendar folder. Moving the current appointments was
easy, but all new invitations are posted and reminders are still only coming
from the .pst file. Also, I warnings about no reminders for new appointments
in the Exchange folder.

Any ideas to change the default calendar folder?

Tools | Email Accounts . In the dialog to change email accounts, under the
list of accounts, use the drop-down list to designate a different default
information store.

Sue: I already tried that without success. It does change where new
messages are delivered, but it does not change where Outlook delivers new
appointments and/or tracks reminders.

Any other ideas?

That is the correct procedure. Try again. You will need to restart Outlook
after making that change. After you do that, you should see your mailbox in
the folder list as the default store.

I think I've figured out part of what is going on... First, I started a new
profile from scratch to see if the problems are dependent on the profile,
which does seem to be the case.

In the process, I removed all my client-rules, which included a rule that
transferred incoming messages transferred to a .PST folder. (remember, I
used to exclusely store all messages in my .PST) When an appointment is
opened in the .PST inbox and you accept it, it is added to the .PST's
calendar folder, not the message store's calendar. So, I've eliminated the
rule and will be using the Exchange server's inbox going forward.

The last strange vestage of this whole issue is a warning dialog that pops
up when accepting appointments that says: "The reminder for
<appointment-name> will not appear because the item is not in your Calendar
or Tasks folder. Is this OK?"

How do I get rid of this warning?

That warning sounds like a problem. Accepting an appointment should always
go into your default Calendar automatically, regardless of where the
meeting request message is. I'd suggest that you just get rid of the .pst
file completely.
