After moving the PST file to a new computer, my contacts are only visible
from the address book. The contacts are blank in the normal viewer and their
are no other options available.

All my other folders, including calendar work just as before.

Many Thanks,
-Phil

Not possible. Look again.
You cannot have anything visible in the Outlook Address Book that does not
exist in a Contacts Folder.
State your version, how you migrated your data, how many Contacts Folders
exist in your profile and how your Outlook Address Book is configured.

Russ,

I agree that the contacts are in my Contacts folder, but I can only see them
in the Outllook Address Book.

I am running 2003 Pro with all the updates and no add-ins. I migrated by
moving the PST's to a new computer and opening them from the new Outlook
instance. The setups on both computers are very similar.

I have only a single profile that has only Hotmail for email and a single
personal files folder with a single Contact folder. It is empty, but if I add
an entry to it, its properties are identical to the properties of the 6000+
entry contacts folder that shows up in the Outlook Address Book.

What other information would be helpful?

Many Thanks,
-Phil

Check the size of the Contacts Folder.
Check your PST file for errors.
Check your view for filters.

Hi Russ,

The folder shows itself as "0" in size.

I do not know how to check for errors, but the PST compresses OK and has
never generated any error messages.

There are no filters on my view.

Many Thanks,
-Phil

Looks like Outlook generated its own PST called "Outlook" in the default MS
path (which I don't normally use) at some point during my migration process.
It contained a Contact folder with my entries (and not much else.) When I
connected this PST and copied the contacts into my empty Contacts folder, I
was back to normal. Don't ask me how Outlook was able to "see" these contacts
in Outlook Address Book even though it was connected.

Many Thanks,
-Phil

Your setup is too unclear to hazard a guess. Access to free hotmail accounts
from Outlook has been discontinued so you will start seeing erratic behavior
as this service is being eliminated.
