How do print text from a web page in a browser

I have a web page that is fine in my browsers but when I go to print it is
missing words at the end of each line in Microsoft Explorer and a whole
paragraph in Netscape. Why? I want viewers to have the option to print off
odd pages of interest.

It'll be the page setup under your printer options. You will need to increase
the print area within the printer settings.

How do I do this? I have changed the page and it is now OK in Explorer but
not netscape. I switched off the shrink to fit but most of the first page,
apart from the links buttons is blank! the text has moved to the second
page. Thanks

maybe you shouldnt worry too much about netscape since, if a site wont work
in netscape, most people will simple switch to IE.

anyway, try playing about with your printer margins, FILE > PRINT >
properties and change your own printer config there.

you could also ask Frontpage to config you pagfe for both IE and Netscape,
by going to TOOL > PAGE OPTIONS > Authering tab, look under browers.

Another option is to have "Printer Friendly" versions of content that you
think they will want to print out. This usually just puts in the text (and
possible graphics) of interest.

Eg http://williams9a.com/IssuesPages/education_issues.htm

At the bottom of the page is a "printer friendly" link. Actually the page
is a template with an Included Page used to bring in the content of the
printer friendly page so the text is only in the site once. This technique
eliminates lots of menus and headers that the user probably does not want in
any case.

Seriously? Since Netscape has been a Mozilla clone for several years
starting with version 6, what about Mozilla and Firefox users? Are you
saying they'll switch to IE, too?

The more likely scenario imho is Netscape, Firefox, and Mozilla users
will simply stop visiting your page!

The print page option suggested by the other poster seems to work well
without the need to reconfigure the printer and also makes up for the
differences in printing/graphics scale between OS as long as it is only
text you are printing.

I also think people will not bother looking in another browser - I certainly
don't swap browsers when surfing for stuff. Still having problems as some
pages are OK others are odd when it comes to printing but I guess I shouldn't
worry too much.

This seems a good option and have looked at the example but I am new to this
- how do I add an 'Included page'?.

If you are using FrontPage 2003 go to help and search for "include page".

In the case of my example the page is based on a Dynamic Web Template which
is a two row, two column table. The candidate's picture is in the upper
left, a banner is in the upper right and the menus are in the lower left.
The editable content section is in the lower right. To include the page use
Insert Web Component, Included Content, Page. Then you select the page you
want. After this you can put a "Printer Friendly" link to the page you
included.

If you are not using templates you can still use tables to arrange your
page. but templates are a great way to get a consistent look and feel for
your site.

Hope this helps.
