How do I view hidden folders

I have folders which I cannot see in the folder view in frontpage 2003. I
have set the site settings-advanced-view hidden to on, yet there are certain
folders that do not show. I know they are there and can see them using my ftp
manager, but they are invisible in frontpage. If I check the properties of
the web it accounts for the invisible folders. Are there any other settings
to make these visible - I didn't make them hidden. The only thing I see in
common between the hidden files is that they all contain the underscore
character, although some with this character are visible.

The files I am looking for are not the "system" files as shown below, but my
own folders such as "planning_files". I used to be able to see them and I
have viable hyperlinks to files in these folders, but for now they are
invisible. I even checked attributes using ftp and they are no different than
folders I can see.

Thanks

If they start with an underscore FP will treat the folders as hidden.
To view hidden folders in FP choose Tools | Site Settings | Advanced
Place a check by "View hidden files and folders".

If you create or import files that require thickets (as in a folder named planning_files which is associated with the page
planning.htm) FP hides them
- if it is a folder you created try running Tools Recalculate hyperlinks to see if FP refreshes your folder list view

Folders with names such as planning_files are thickets, planning_files will
be associated with a page named planning.htm.

When you save a Word document, an Excel document, or a PowerPoint
presentation as a Web page that uses an .htm or html extension, a main HTML
file is created in addition to a folder that contains supporting files for
the Web page. The folder uses the same name as the HTML file of the Web
page, in the form pagename_files. This page/folder combination is known
as a thicket.

A thicket is also created when VML graphics are used in a web page. VML
graphics are created when using FP Drawing Objects, text boxes (do not
confuse with any form fields) and Word Art.

Thickets are always hidden in FrontPage, and always appear to be manipulated
as a single object.

In Windows Explorer, you can control how thickets are manipulated (by
windows explorer - this will not affect FP):

Tools->Folder Options
On the View Tag, look for "Managing pairs of Web Pages and Folders" and
pick an option.
