All of the video clips I used in PowerPoint that had the DV codec don't work
anymore. What did I do? Can I make a simple change or do I have to go in and
re-do them all with a different codec.

Thanks for the reply Sonia. Yes I am. The clips worked until just recently.
I think another piece of software as messed things up but I don't know how
to get the system back to the way it was. I had videos that were using DV
CODEC and some that are using CINEPAK CODEC. For some reason only the
Cinepak are working now. When I convert the DV clips to cinepak they work.

What software do you suspect?

Sony has its own DV codec and it's possible that the Sony software has
replaced the default MS DV codec with one that's not MCI compliant.
In the first instance try renaming one of the pesky AVIs to *.mpg and try
inserting that.

I just had the same problem after a long time of it working...I must have
changed the codecs. A simple solution is to put your video in the slide, even
though it won't play. then create a text box for the name of the video. right
click and choose "hyperlink"
Now just link to the folder with the video...
It is stupid one has to do it this way but it works.
