Step 1 Capture video, most likely to .avi
Step 2 Edit movie.
Step 3 convert .avi file to DVD mp2 compatible. Can take hours.
Step 4 Use DVD authoring software to convert the mp2 to DVD format, can take
hours.
Step 5 Burn DVD.
You say it is not recognizing what...? The camera? VCR?, capture device..?
What software are you using.

JIm, I had the same problem. I have the same computer one
thing I found that worked is.

First, I had to make sure that the vaio media servers
were working and installed. Once I did that I could use
click to DVD to input analog video from my vcr.

Right now, I am trying to figure out how to use any other
program to input analog video. I tried movie maker and
it said capture device on recognized or set up right. I
tried Roxio same problem and I tried sonic's program.
They all do not recognize the video capture device. Does
anyone have a clue on this?
