Outlook's formatting of phone numbers is hard-coded. I can't think of any dialers that would appreciate the periods anyway.

D Donna in Idaho May 8, 2006 #3 Which brings up a questioin - why are we all of a sudden seeing phone numbers written with periods instead of dashes? I've seen that in lots of ads, correspondence, etc., and can't see the point. What was wrong with the 'old-fashioned' dashes? Donna

J Jim G May 9, 2006 #4 It's trendy. I picked up the habit while living in Europe. Maybe the period distracts the eye less than the dash.
