How do I use a form to run a query? How do I bind the query to it

I want to run a query and also a report (based on the query) using the
criteria I select from a combo box on a form.
 
Criteria --
[Forms]![YourFormName]![ComboName]

Or using wildcards --
Like [Forms]![YourFormName]![ComboName] & "*"
Like "*" & [Forms]![YourFormName]![ComboName] & "*"
Like "*" & [Forms]![YourFormName]![ComboName]
