How do I upload shared borders and themes?

I have published websites before but not using shared borders and themes.
This is what I have done now, but the theme (colours, etc) and the shared
borders including logo, do not come through. What am I not doing? Thanks for
whatever help I can get!
 
If you are not publishing w/ FP then you must upload all _hidden folders named _themes and _derived

In your FP web folder
- in your FTP software or Windows Explorer turn on the option to see hidden / system files / folders

Ah ha! I looked around and found the hidden folders. Now I have everything
online that is supposed to be there. I'm not really sure what it all means
but I'll keep trying to figure that out. Thank you very much for your quick
reply and info!
