How do I upgrade motherboard while on Win XP Pro

I want to buy a new mobo for my computer and was wondering
how difficult it is when starting up XP Pro for the first
time afterwards.

Any thoughts?

I just installed a new MB and had little problems. Just

make sure you set your cd-drive as 1st boot up and have
your windows xp disc in. You will have to reinstall
windows...of course.
 
You DO NOT have to reinstall Windows when changing a mother board. Do a
repair install, which should leave your data and settings intact. Follow
these steps:

Start the operating system from the CD-ROM (you may have to set your BIOS to
have the CD drive as the first boot device)

When the computer starts from the CD, the system checks your hardware

and then prompts you to select one of the following options:

To set up Windows XP now, press ENTER.

To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.

To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.


Press ENTER.


Press F8 to accept the Licensing Agreement.

A box lists your current Windows XP installation, and then the system

prompts you to select one of the following options:

To repair the selected Windows XP installation, press R.

To continue installing a fresh copy of Windows XP without repairing, press
ESC.

Press R to start the automatic repair process. After repairing Windows XP,

you will need re-download all updates,starting with SP1.

It should be simple just make sure that you have the mobo
disc in the cd drive when you boot up and set the bios
settings as they were on your old mobo and there
shouldn't be anyprobs that i couls see let me know ?
