Dear Sir/Madam,
According to Microsoft express update service, the only important
update my pc needs, at the moment, is Windows Internet Explorer 7.0
for my Windows XP. Unfortunately, I do not want this, as it affects my
computer.
However, according to Trend Micro Housecall, I need updates for my
Microsoft Office 2000 premium.

Patch Available for "Office 2000 UA Control" Vulnerability

site.
2 Microsoft Security Bulletin MS01-028
RTF document linked to template can run macros without warning
Originally posted: May 21, 2001

Summary
Who should read this bulletin:
Customers using Microsoft® Word for Windows or Microsoft Word for the
Mac
Impact of vulnerability:
Run macros without warning
Recommendation:
Customers using affected versions of Word should apply the patch
immediately.
Affected Software:
• Microsoft Word 2000
Both needed the same download Office 2000 Update: Service Pack 3 (SP3)
When I tried to download Office 2000 Update: Service Pack 3 (SP3), my
computer could not install it. I received a message stating, “ The
expected version of the product was not found on your system.”
Because I regularly update Windows XP, has Trend Micro Housecall got it
wrong?
To cut a long story short, I uninstalled and re-installed Office 2000
using custom selecting to install.
I went back to Office SR-1/SR-1a download again, but still Office SR-1
would not update to SR-1a.It stated:
"Error 1328. Error applying patch to file.
c:\Config.Msi\PT1BB.tmp.
It has probably been updated by other means, and can no longer be
modified by this patch. For more information contact your patch
vendor."
Then it was suggested that I could not install Office SR-1/SR-1a,
because Office 2000 did not have SR-1? if so how do I find and install
this download?
I am totally confused and need sensible , understandable help. An
exasperated pc illiterate.
