New to the group. How do I uninstall the SQL Server in Microsoft Office
Professional? And will I loose my business contact data?

If you remove sql server you won't be able to access BCM data, but the
file with the bcm database will still remain on your hard drive.

Luther, does this mean if I uninstall it, will I be able to re-install BCM
and find the BCM data to import it back into BCM. As you can tell I'm very
new to this sort of thing.

V3 has a feature that shows you the dismounted databases in your BCM
database folder, and lets you select one of them. This should work
whenever you go to menu BCM|Database Tools|Create or Select a Database.
You don't have to uninstall and reinstall BCM.

In earlier versions, you need to mount the database yourself, using
osql (already installed on every system) or sql tools.

Note, that mounting (or attaching) a database to the sql server engine
is different from importing a file.

First what is a V3? Do you mean within BCM is a menu option to select? Then
again select the database I need? When I click on BCM to open, it's not
even recognizing it. I went to where it was showing on the left side of
Microsoft Outlook and right clicked on it to find what you where talking
about and I closed it now it won't come back up. Is there any way we can get
into a chat rm together to asist me in fixing this problem? I am deperate to
fix this problem it is the database for my business. I have tied up on this
now with today three days. NEED HELP PLEASE!!

Beth

V3 is version 3 of BCM. What version do you have?

Have you tried calling Microsoft? They have support 24 hours a day.

Versions 1 and 2 of BCM both work with Office 2003. Like I said below,
if you've reinstalled sql server, with BCM versions earlier than 3 you
have to manually reattach database files to the sql server instance
yourself.
