Steve

I just went to delete a person from my distribution list in my Contacts, and
somehow the whole contact was deleted.

How do I undo a Contact delete?

I have over 250 emails in this Distribution list, so I am in a panic as to
how to recover this one entry with 250 email names.

Thank you.

Do you mean you deleted a Contact from a Category and the whole Category was
deleted?

Michael, thank you for responding.

I was in my Contact Folder. I had earlier created a Distribution List
contact. Over time I now have 250 members for this one contact entry. I did
not have the entry catagorized.

It is only this one contact entry (with 250+ members) that I want to undelete.

Thanks for helping me with this.

Steve

Ok, got ya. Unfortunately, if you pressed Delete, it deletes the whole
Distribution list. You have to use Remove to Remove a member of that list. I
don't know how to get that list back or Undelete it....sorry.

Michael,

I solved the problem, and I appreicate your fast response.

FYI, here is what I did:
1. created a fake Distribution List entry and gave it an email address and
list name of XXXX.
2. I then deleted this entry (like I did before on my mistake!)
3. I went to the email Delete folder and searched for XXXX.
4. I found the deleted entry (whew!)
5. I then went back to the Delete folder and searched on one of the members
(one I rarely use), and up popped the Subject Name of the deleted Entry.
I then moved the entry back to the Contact folder.

Again, I do appreciate your trying to help me solve this problem, and you
got me thinking about the fake test.

How do I undo a Contact delete?

Open Deleted Items, locate the DL you deleted, and drag it back to Contacts.
Of you sort on the Icon field, you'll find it more easily.
