i thought i was deleting an email and my folder disappeared. anyway to
retrieve it and the emails in it?

Unless you confirmed the deletion twice it should be now a subfolder of
Deleted Items. Otherwise restore from backup.

So the next step is....

If it is in Deleted Items, drag it back out and drop it where you want it!

keeping them in OUTLOOK, I could drag them over to a folder under MY
DOCUMENTS. Well when I go to open them, there is nothing there. How can I get

Describe exactly how you dragged them. Normally, if you drag a folder from
Outlook to a Windows folder, all you're doing is creating a shortcut that,
when double-clicked, will open Outlook and display the original folder.
Dragging a folder or a message in a folder to Windows does not delete them.
Dragging a folder creates a shortcut (you'll se the shortcut arrow at the
lower left of the icon) and dragging a message makes a copy of the message.

Are you saying you created a shortcut of a folder, then deleted it from
Outlook? If so, unless it's in your Deleted Items folder still, it's gone
and the shortcut in Windows has no where to point. Recover the folders from
your Outlook backups in that case. You do make backups, right?

Roady: You make it sound so easy, BUT...... I'm using OL2007. When I was
moving a message from one folder to another I happened to notice there is a
folder (let's call it ABC folder) in my Deleted Items. It is visible in the
Move/Copy window; however I cannot access it from the main folder window or
favorites window. I cannot expand the Deleted Items Folder because there's a
Trash Can icon there not a Plus sign. So how to I get to the ABC folder to
move it back to where it belongs in my Personal folders?

Help please?
Thanks.

Diane,

Two files were renamed in Personal Folders in Outlook 2003 and now are gone.
Outlook was closed and then opened again and the files are gone. That is
what was said. I think they may have been deleted. Is there a way to
recover them? Asking you since you were the latest post. If anyone out
there could help, I would appreciate. Thanks

Ctrl+6 to go to the folder list view and drag it from the deleted folder to
where ever you want it.
