On the View menu, point to Reading Pane, and then click Off.
Note: Global changes to the Reading Pane, with the exception of
options set in the Reading Pane dialog box, cannot be made; you must
make them individually for each folder.

Outlook with the /nopreview command line switch?

Jay said:Unfortunately, that only affects the "current" folder. I was looking
for a way to get rid of the grid lines on all folders. I have
several hundred folders and the Office 2000 view was much better than
the default view in office 2003.
