How do I turn off the Navigation pane?

Hi all ,

Outlook 2003. In the Navigation pane, when I right-click on my calendar or
the contacts and select Open in a new window, the navigation pane displays
by default in that new window, and I have to manually close it off each
time, a minor but repeated pain..

When I used Outlook 2000, I had no such problem, the Navigation pane was not
displayed in the new windows.

How do I change the options in Outlook 2003 so that the navigation pane is
NOT displayed in new Outlook windows? I have searched through the MS
Knowledge Base, and there is no information addressing this issue.

Thank you.

You could try starting Outlook with the /Folder option. That shouldn't
display the Navigation Pane by default if I recall correctly.
