Word 2007: How do I turn off "linked" style type
I was an expert Word user for older versions, not so much for Word 2007, which I'm finding really difficult to find things and figure things out. In Word 2007, the Heading 1, 2, 3 etc. styles are set with a default of "linked" style types which means they can be a character and/or paragraph style. First, I don't understand how the meaning of the word "linked" applies to this concept. Second, I can't find any way to turn off this default and just make the Headings a "paragraph" only style. When I select "Modify Style", the Style Type: selection box is greyed out/disabled. Can someone help me?
