My outlook calendar is malfunctioning. When I try to open a new Appt.
nothing opens. If I click on the space & type a name I get an error message
"Could Not Save Item" Any idea what's up?

Close Outlook, reboot Windows, and then try it again.

Interesting. My CEO called with this complaint on Saturday as well. I
had him reboot and all seemed fine, then again the same on Sunday and
Monday. It would seem that rebooting fixes this only temporarily in
our case.

Based on a Microsoft article, I went ahead and compared his rpc DLLs
with his Windows version (the same) and I have deleted and reinstalled
his TCP/IP protocol, in case this as something to do with rpc. No word
yet on whether the problem has returned today.

Instinct tells me this will re-occur (I hope I'm wrong). If so, what
would you suggest we look at next? The CEO is very adament that any
fix not disturb his custom settings, so I am cautious about doing an
Outlook 'repair'.
