How do I transfer my list of Contacts from one computer to another (using ms
outlook 2007)?

Ultimately, I'm trying to transfer my outlook files (contacts & tasks &
calender) from my laptop to my desktop. Figuring out how to do it even once
would be a start (give me a base to which to work from and add too), but
figure out how to sync the two (for the future) would be even better (though
I don't know if this is even possible...)?

I'd really really appreciate any help! :)

The file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the
mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.

Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer:

ok, i manage to get as far as:

"You can have one or more .pst files, but new messages can only be delivered
to one file.

Now that your old items are available in Outlook, you need to tell Outlook
which data file is your primary data file and that all new items should go to
the Inbox in that .pst file. The file or mailbox to which your new messages
are delivered is called the default delivery location.

1. On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.

THIS OPTION IS NOT SHOWING UP ON MY SCREEN.

Outlook 2007 is essentially the same. The path may differ slightly. I'm not
running it right now but you should be able to figure it out. Did you try
File > Data File Management? Or Tools > Account Settings...?

I have a similar problem with outlook 2003 -- my old pc broke, but I was able
to copy the hard-drive before it went away. I am now trying to reinstate all
of my e-mails and contacts onto my new pc. when I follow the directions for
doing this, and I get into the folder the *.pst file is supposed to be in,
the only thing there is the archive file. I was able to open that just fine,
but it only has messages, and they are all several months old. I tried to do
a search for *.pst, and found nothing. Is there another location this file
could be? Or a different extention?

No different extension, but the location could be anywhere. Are you aware
PST files are hidden files?
