For the new virus affecting Windows 2000, XP, server etc
I need to know if my Windows XP is 32 or 64 bit.

How can I tell if my Windows is a 32 or 64 bit?

Thanks, Dav0

You have the 32 bit one

Only reply by newsgroup. If I see an email I didn't ask for, it will be
deleted without reading.

There are 3 specific WindowsXP versions: Home, Pro and 64 bit
(different from the first two).

To all the repliers-you didn't notice that the question was asked and
answered on the line above. The idiot had to see it. Now this is what I

Not everyone has their newsreaders configured the same exact way. The
"line" above this post showed up in my newsreader as a thread about
firewalls...

| And why don't you learn how to reply in a newsgroup?

This type of thing is getting nerve racking. I don't think that it is
as much the posters fault as it is the news servers that are only
_slurping_ a small percentage of the Microsoft public newsgroups.
A lot of the repititious posts will also have a web based posting host.
I have no way of proving or disproving this theory it is just a
thought that crossed my mind.

Frank, I don't like repititious posts either but I won't hold them against
new users or users in trouble. My fuse would be very short if my system was
restarting every 30 seconds too.

I am just puzzled by some comments. Folks don't always realize that what
they are seeing on their screen isn't what others see. For example, I
recently read a message that said "see my response on page 3." "Page 3" of
what? Probably web-interface-page-3 but not a universal situation for
everyone reading the groups. This kind of reference is... well, just silly.

I agree with you that the web interface is horrendous and often
counter-productive instead of helpful.

99.9% of the questions are posted using the CDO interface. Therefore
they are ALL seeing (or not!) the same posts.
