how do I take computer back to an earlier date?

There was a power cut, when I started the computer again it couldn't find
printmaster.

Do you know what to do to take the machine back to another date, I have
heard it

mentoned on several occasions but never bothered learning how to do it.

Hope you know the answer
 
Start - Accessories - System Tools - System restore
This will do a system restore to an earlier date, though I'm not sure this
has any effects on a database.
