How do I stop "unaccepted" mtg requests fr appearing on my Cal?

How do I stop meeting requests from appearing on my calendar until I have an
opportunity to acccept or reject them? People are expecting me to show up at
meetings when I haven't even seen the invitation!
 
Tools | Options | E-mail Options | Tracking Options. Clear the box for "Process requests and responses on arrival"

That didn't stop it! As soon as I open the email notification, it appears in
the calendar. I need it to stay OFF the calendar until I actually accept the
invitation.

It should appear only as tentative until you accept it.
 
true -- it does appear as "tentative" -- "tentative" isn't recognized by
another program I run based on my calendar. See .... after awhile, the full
truth is revealed!

Sounds like "another program" has a problem, then.
