How do I stop the mutiple monitor feature?

My computer keeps saying I have mutiple monitors when I don't. I have the
correct video display adapter and it is compatible with Windows XP although
Windows XP does not carry the driver.
 
Actually, you have two monitors. One is the specific model, and one is
likely a generic PNP monitor.
Because they are the same actual monitor is beside the point. Disable
whichever one of the two in Device manager.
It's likely to be the specific model you will want to disable, since you
stated that the "driver" is not part of windows. You might go the other way
by downloading the correct files from the mfr/vendor.
