How do I stop style changing

Although I'm not a new user to word, there is something basic that is
happening that I just don't understand.

I have some text in the cell of a table that is essentially clear formatting
but with typeface blue. There are several lines of it.

If I delete one of the middle lines the line below changes - in this
particular case to Heading 3. (This is just one example - deleting a CR
would also have the same effect.)

However much I 'para format' the whole column the problem still occurs.

Can SKS help out

It is Word XP, WinXP Pro OS.

TIA

Robin

It seems to be picking up the format style that appears immediately after
the end of the trable.

You need to select the CELL and apply the correct underlying Style,
otherwise as you have found out, if you delete the end of the text that is
in one Style, the contents of the cell all changes to the original
underlying Style.

Thanks Terry for saving my sanity - so obvious when someone tells you what
to do, but needless to say, I never even thought of it <BG> - the power of
newsgroups :)
