Everytime I try to access a hyperlink to a local resourse, PPT 2003 tells me
it is potentially unsafe and prompts me to continue. I don't want to be
prompted in the middle of my presentation. I do I make PPT stop telling me
this?

Go to Tools > Options > Security > Macro Security and set it to Low. Be
sure to set it back to High afterwards, especially if you accept files from
other people.

Thanks Sonia,

I appreciate your response, unfortunately that had no effect on the prompt
when following a hyper link. (it does of course remove the prompt regarding
using Macros but that was not an issue.)

How do I get rid of the prompt when following hyperlinks?

Ben

Instead of hyperlinking to the file, try using an action setting
instead. Right-click the object you want to click for the link, choose
Action Settings, and in the Hyperlink To box navigate to "other file."

Thanks Echo,

That would be a lot of work since I already have hundreds of links in many
existing presentations. Further some of the links are actually web based
links and not local files. I really would prefer to stop the message from
poping up. Surely Microsoft provided some way to remove/suppress that
message, otherwise url links in a presentation are virtually worthless.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's any other way to turn it off, Ben.
Perhaps others will have some ideas, though.
