How do I stop messenger 5.0 from trying to reinstall

When I open unrelated programs, messenger keeps trying to reinstall and
fails. I tried to unistall using "
msiexec /x {4A432C6C-1E20-4266-95D1-5782349C6C62}" but that action is only
valid for products that are currently installed. The error messages seems to
indicate that there are components missing from the package.
How do I remove it from my system?

Thanks

To fix this you need to:
1. Close messenger
2. Delete the directory
C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.Windows.Networking.RtcDll_<GUID STUFF HERE>
If you can't delete, it means some other program is also using this.
I've seen the latest AIM mess this up. So close all other programs that you
can tell are running also.
3. Reinstall Windows Messenger 5.

Now everything should work fine, and you can also uninstall messenger if you
prefer.
